Transient slips booked from the water
On a July Friday the dockmaster is catching lines and the fuel dock has a queue. A boater an hour out still gets a slip, the right power and a text telling them which dock to aim for.
A boater calls from the water, the car or the cottage for a night or a few.
Matches the boat to an open slip, books it, takes payment, texts the dock.
Booked slips on the dock sheet, and a dockmaster who knows who's coming in.
How it works
- Answers through the rush
First ring on a summer weekend, several boats at once, while the staff are on the docks.
- Gets the boat
Length overall, beam, draft, power or sail, and 30 or 50 amp. The boat's name and a cell number.
- Matches a slip
Only slips that are open and fit. It checks your entrance and dock depth against their draft before it says yes.
- Prices the night
From your per-foot rate, with power and any long-weekend minimum, read out plainly.
- Books and texts
Dock and slip number, the VHF channel to call on arrival, fuel dock hours and the washroom code.
- Tells the dock
The dockmaster sees the boat, the slip and the arrival time, so someone is there to take lines.
Example call
- CustomerHi, we're a 36-foot Sea Ray, about an hour out from Midland. Any room tonight and tomorrow?
- AI agentLet me look. What's your beam and draft, and do you need 30 or 50 amp?
- CustomerTwelve and a half feet, three-foot draft, 30 amp.
- AI agentI have B-14 for both nights with 30 amp. At 3 dollars a foot plus power it's 238 for the two nights. What's the boat name?
- CustomerSunny Ways. Do you have pump-out?
- AI agentWe do, at the fuel dock until 8 tonight. I'll text you the payment link, the slip and the channel to call when you're at the breakwall.
After the call: Sunny Ways is on the dock sheet in B-14 for two nights with 30 amp power, the payment link is paid, and the dockmaster sees an arrival around 6:30.

Questions
Will it book a slip that's too shallow?
No. It checks the boat's draft against the depth you've set for each dock and your entrance.
Can it take a booking for a week?
Yes, at your weekly rate if you have one, and only on slips free for the whole stay.
Does it answer fuel questions?
It gives the fuel dock hours and the fuels you carry. It quotes a fuel price only if you give it one.
