Trial classes placed by age, style and level
Placement is the question behind most first calls: which class is right for a four-year-old, a beginner teen, a nervous adult. The agent answers it your way and books a trial before the parent calls the studio across town.
A parent or adult beginner calls about starting dance.
Asks age, style and experience, applies your placement rules, books a trial with the spots left.
A trial dancer on the class roster, with age, experience and a note for the teacher.
How it works
- Answers over the music
From 4 to 9 on weeknights and all Saturday, while the owner is teaching and the front desk is running a costume fitting.
- Learns about the dancer
Age on your cut-off date, styles they're curious about, any classes they've taken, and the days the family can do.
- Places them by your rules
Pre-ballet, combo, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, acro or tap. A class that needs prior training is never offered to a true beginner.
- Checks the spots left
Sees how many places are left in each class before it offers one, and offers the waitlist when a class is full.
- Books the trial
One trial class, with a text that lists the dress code: tights colour, shoes, hair in a bun for ballet.
- Flags the in-between dancer
A ten-year-old with two years of jazz somewhere else is booked for a trial and noted so the teacher can check the level.
Example call
- CustomerHi, I'm thirty-four and I've never danced. I want to try adult hip hop. Is that weird?
- AI agentNot weird at all. Our Thursday adult hip hop class is mostly people who started as adults. It's at 8, so the kids are long gone.
- CustomerHa, good. What do I wear?
- AI agentComfortable pants, a T-shirt and clean running shoes you don't wear outside. Want to try this Thursday?
- CustomerYeah, let's do it.
- AI agentGreat. Can I have your name and a number to text the details to?
- CustomerJordan Mensah, this number's fine.
- AI agentYou're booked for a trial in adult hip hop with Kiera this Thursday at 8, Studio B. I'll text you the address and what to wear.
After the call: Thursday's adult hip hop roster shows Jordan as a trial dancer marked "first dance class ever", Kiera has a heads-up, and Jordan has a text with the studio, time and dress code.

Questions
Will it place a dancer in a higher level?
Only by your rules. A dancer who seems between levels is booked for a trial and the teacher decides after seeing them.
Does it give tuition prices?
If you want it to, from your fee sheet, monthly or per term. Costume fees and recital fees are read the same way.
Can it book a sibling at the same time?
Yes. It looks for classes that run at the same time or back to back, so the parent makes one trip.
What if the class is full?
It says so, offers a similar class with room, or adds the dancer to the waitlist for that class.
