Inbound: the customer calls

Insurer-ordered WETT inspections for new owners

New owners get a letter from their insurer and two weeks to send an inspection. Emma explains the levels in your words, books the right one before the deadline, and tells them what to send their broker after.

When it starts

A buyer or homeowner calls because their insurer or broker wants a wood-burning inspection.

What the agent does

Explains the inspection levels, books the right one before the deadline, says what the report includes.

What your team gets

An inspection with the insurer's deadline and the broker's details, on your certified inspector's day.

How it works

  1. Finds out who's asking

Insurer, broker, or a home sale. She notes the deadline they were given and any form the insurer sent.

  2. Explains the levels

From your descriptions: what a Level 1 and a Level 2 inspection involve, and which one insurers and sales usually ask for.

  3. Learns the setup

Stove, insert or fireplace, the chimney type, whether it was installed by the last owner, and if any paperwork came with the house.

  4. Books before the deadline

A time with a certified inspector that leaves room for the written report. If nothing fits, the office is flagged.

  5. Says what comes after

The written report goes to them by email, ready to forward to the broker. Any repairs it finds can be booked as a quote.

Example call

  1. CustomerWe just bought a house in Bracebridge and the insurance company says we need a WETT inspection on the wood stove within 30 days.
  2. AI agentWe do those. Insurers usually want a Level 2 for a new owner. That includes a camera through the whole flue and a written report. Do you know when the deadline is?
  3. CustomerThe 28th.
  4. AI agentThanks. Did the stove come with any installation papers from the last owner?
  5. CustomerNot that I know of.
  6. AI agentThat's okay, Mike will check the clearances. The Level 2 is 325 dollars. I have Monday the 12th at 10, which leaves plenty of time for the report. Does that work?
  7. CustomerYes, perfect.
  8. AI agentBooked. The report comes by email so you can send it straight to your broker.

After the call: Mike has a Level 2 inspection on Monday the 12th at 10 with the insurer's deadline of the 28th and "no install papers" noted. The homeowner has a confirmation and your prep steps by text.

What your team gets

  • Inspections booked with the insurer's deadline on the job
  • The right level booked the first time
  • A flag to the office when no slot fits the deadline
  • Repair quotes booked from the report's findings
Set up with you: The team sets up a connection to your inspector's calendar and job records, and loads your inspection levels, prices and how reports are sent.

Questions

Does it say whether a stove will pass?

No. It books the inspection. What the inspector finds is in the written report.

Can it explain the inspection levels?

Yes, from the descriptions you give it, so callers book the right one.

Can it send the report to the broker?

It notes the broker's email so your office can send the report there once it's done.
