Reversing openers fixed by phone or booked
Half of opener calls are a sensor knocked out of line by a recycling bin. Emma walks the caller through the checks you approve, saves them a service fee when it's that simple, and books a tech when it isn't.
The opener hums, clicks, blinks, or reverses before the door reaches the floor.
Takes the caller through your sensor, lock and remote checks, then books an opener service call.
Fewer wasted truck rolls, and opener jobs with the brand, age and blink pattern noted.
How it works
- Hears the symptom
Reverses on the way down, hums but doesn't move, works from the wall button but not the remote. Each points somewhere different.
- Checks the sensors
The two small eyes at the bottom of the tracks: is one light blinking, is something in the way, has one been bumped? Wiping and lining them up fixes a lot of calls.
- Checks the simple things
The manual lock bar, the lock button on the wall control, the remote battery. Only the checks you've approved, nothing with tools.
- Stops at a spring
If what they describe sounds like a broken spring or cable, she switches to the spring booking and asks them to stop running the opener.
- Books the opener call
Brand, rough age, belt or chain, and what the light on the motor is doing. She offers two windows and notes whether a replacement opener might come up.
- Logs the fix
Calls solved by a sensor wipe are logged too, so you can see how many truck rolls it saved and who to remind about a tune-up.
Example call
- CustomerThe door goes down about halfway and then pops back up. It's done it all morning.
- AI agentLet's check the safety sensors first. Down at the bottom of each track there's a small box with a light. Are both lights steady?
- CustomerOne's green, the other one's blinking. Oh, the kids' hockey net is right against it.
- AI agentThat will do it. Move the net, then gently turn the blinking one until its light stays steady. Try the door once.
- CustomerIt went all the way down. Wow, okay. Do I owe you anything?
- AI agentNot a thing. Your opener's about twelve years old by our records, so I'll make a note for your fall tune-up. Anything else I can help with?
After the call: No truck went out. The call is logged as fixed by phone against the customer's address, and their twelve-year-old opener is flagged for the fall tune-up list.
What your team gets
- Sensor and lock calls solved on the phone, with no truck sent
- Opener jobs booked with brand, age, drive type and the light pattern
- A count of truck rolls saved each month
- Ageing openers flagged as replacement leads for sales
Questions
Will it have customers take things apart?
No. It only talks them through looking at the sensor lights, clearing the beam, the lock bar and the remote battery, or whatever short list you approve.
Does it know opener brands?
It asks for the brand and model on the motor and notes it, so the tech brings the right logic board or remote.
Won't fixing it by phone cost us jobs?
It saves your techs for real work, and the customer remembers who helped. Many of those callers book a tune-up or a new opener later.
