Inbound: the customer calls

Burst pipes stopped at the shut-off, then sent on-call

Every minute of water through a ceiling is drywall, flooring and insurance. Emma gets the water off first, in calm short steps, then gets your on-call plumber on the line.

When it starts

A burst pipe, a split supply line, a leaking tank or water through a ceiling.

What the agent does

Walks the caller to the shut-off with your wording, then transfers or books the on-call plumber.

What your team gets

The water off sooner, and an on-call plumber who knows the house before they answer.

How it works

  1. Water off first

Before names or addresses. Where the main valve usually sits in that kind of house, which way to turn it, and what to try if it's stuck.

  2. Then the power

If water is near outlets or the panel, your wording tells them to stay clear and not to touch anything electrical.

  3. Gets the facts

Address, where the water was coming from, whether it's stopped, how much is on the floor.

  4. Puts on-call through

A warm transfer with a private summary, or a live connection if the caller still can't find the valve.

  5. Books it if it can wait

Water off and the house is safe? She books the first morning slot and tells them the emergency rate you set if they want someone tonight.

  6. Texts what's next

The plumber's name, when to expect them, and to take photos for their insurer.

  2. AI agentLet's stop it first. Your main shut-off is usually where the water line comes through the front basement wall, near the meter. Can you get there?

  4. AI agentTurn it clockwise as far as it goes. Keep away from the ceiling lights while you're there.
  5. CustomerOkay, it's turned. It's slowing down... it's stopped.
  6. AI agentWell done. What's your address? I'm putting you through to Paul, our on-call plumber, right now.
  7. Customer42 Hawthorne Drive, Oakville.
  8. AI agent(privately, to Paul) Burst pipe in the basement ceiling on Hawthorne Drive, Oakville. Main is off, water stopped, ceiling wet near the lights. Connecting now.

After the call: Paul takes the call knowing the main is off and where the leak is, and arrives within the hour. The homeowner gets a text with his name and a reminder to photograph the damage.

Set up with you: The team writes your shut-off and safety wording with you, sets your on-call rotation and emergency rate, sets up a connection to your dispatch board so night jobs land there, and tests the transfer to each on-call phone.

Questions

Will she tell callers where the shut-off is?

Where it usually is in Canadian homes, using your approved wording: the front basement wall near the meter, or a crawlspace or utility room. She stays on until it's off or the plumber takes over.

What if they can't turn the valve?

She tries your next step, such as the valve at the water heater or the fixture, then connects them live to the on-call plumber.

What if water is near the electrical panel?

Your wording tells them to stay away and not to touch the panel, and to call 911 if there's any sparking or smoke.
