Friday rush orders taken and read back
It's 6:05 on a Friday and the phone has rung five times in a row. Every order is taken, read back line by line and on the make line, while the person on the counter keeps cutting pies.
A customer calls to order for pickup or delivery, as many at once as call.
Takes the order from your menu, offers one add-on, reads it back, quotes the time, sends it to the POS.
The order on the make line with the quote time and payment, keyed in by nobody.
How it works
- Takes it the way your counter does
Size, crust, sauce, toppings, half-and-half, well done, wing flavour and heat, dips, the two-litre. From your live menu and prices.
- Uses the deals you run
If the caller's order costs more than the two-large special, it says so once. Your specials, never one it made up.
- Writes down the requests
Light cheese, cut in squares, no onions on half, a peanut allergy. Each lands on the ticket where the make line sees it.
- Reads it all back
Every item, every change, then the total from the POS. The caller fixes anything right there.
- Quotes the real time
The pickup or delivery time you've set for tonight. When the manager bumps the quote, callers hear the new one.
- Sends it to the make line
The order is in the POS the moment the call ends, with payment by text link, at the counter or at the door, your choice.
Example call
- AI agentThanks for calling Tony's Pizza on King Street, this is Emma. Pickup or delivery?
- CustomerPickup. Two larges, one pepperoni, one Hawaiian, and a pound of wings, medium.
- AI agentGot it. Our Friday two-large deal comes with a free garlic bread at the same price. Want to switch to that?
- CustomerSure. And can the Hawaiian be well done?
- AI agentYes. So that's the two-large deal, one pepperoni, one Hawaiian well done, garlic bread, and a pound of medium wings. 47 dollars and 85 cents, ready in about 25 minutes. Name?
- CustomerLisa Morin.
- AI agentThanks, Lisa. It's in. You can pay at the counter, and I'll text you when it's ready.
After the call: The order hits the make line as the Friday deal with the well-done note, the counter screen shows Lisa's 25-minute pickup, and she gets a text when it's bagged.

- Calls answered, orders taken and average ticket, by night
Questions
Will it get the order wrong?
It reads the whole order back, item by item, before the call ends, and the caller corrects anything then. The recording is kept if a question comes up later.
Does it upsell every caller?
Once at most, and only when it's a real deal from your menu, like a combo that costs them less. A no ends it.
What happens when the kitchen is buried?
Your manager changes the quote time in the portal and every caller hears it. You can also stop taking delivery for a while and keep pickup open.
Can it take a big order for a hockey team?
Yes. Large orders go in like any other, with the extra lead time you set for that size.
