Day-before calls about ID, unsigned forms and signers
The most common wasted appointment is the one where the form was signed at the kitchen table or the second signer stayed home. She calls the day before and catches both.
A signing appointment on tomorrow's schedule.
Checks signers, ID and unsigned forms, rebooks if anything is missing.
A schedule of signings that can actually happen, and early openings when they can't.
How it works
- Calls the day before
A short call at the time you choose, with a text instead for people who asked for one.
- Confirms every signer
Each person who signs must come. She names them and asks that each one is still coming.
- Checks the ID
Unexpired government photo ID for each signer, with names that match the document.
- Asks about the form
"Please don't sign it before you come in." If someone already has, she tells them what your notary asks for.
- Rebooks on the call
Missing a signer or an ID, she moves them to a new time and opens the slot.
- Fills the gap
The open time goes to callers waiting for an earlier appointment.
Example call
- AI agentHi Mr. Liang, it's Emma from Hillcrest Notary in Kanata. Just checking on tomorrow at 10 for you and your wife. Still good?
- CustomerYes. Oh, wait, she's in Calgary until Sunday.
- AI agentThanks for telling me now. Since the affidavit needs both of you, shall we move it to next week? I have Monday at 10 or Tuesday at 4.
- CustomerTuesday at 4.
- AI agentDone. And please leave the affidavit unsigned until you're both here. I'll text you the new time.
After the call: Tomorrow's 10:00 opens and goes to a caller on the earlier-time list, and Tuesday 4:00 shows both Mr. and Mrs. Liang with "affidavit, both sign".

Questions
Call or text?
You choose. Many offices text first and call only when there's no reply by the afternoon.
What if someone already signed the form?
She tells them what your notary told her to say, usually to bring a fresh copy of the form.
Can she fill the slot she opens?
Yes. She calls or texts people waiting for an earlier time and books the first one who says yes.
