Inbound: the customer calls

Couch and mattress pickups quoted by truck load

"How much to take a couch?" is the call that books your trucks. The agent asks what your crew lead would ask, gives your load-size price with the item fees you set, and books an arrival window while your crew is lifting someone else's piano.

When it starts

A homeowner, tenant or landlord calls or texts about furniture, appliances or a pile of stuff.

What the agent does

Learns the items, the spot and the stairs, quotes from your load pricing, books an arrival window.

What your team gets

A booked pickup with the items, the load estimate and access notes on the crew's route.

How it works

  1. Learns what's going

A sectional, two mattresses, a fridge, a treadmill, old paint. Each item named, because some carry a fee or can't go at all.

  2. Asks where it sits

Curbside, garage, a third-floor walk-up or a crawlspace. Stairs and carries change how long the crew needs.

  3. Estimates the load

A minimum, a quarter, half or full truck, from your load chart. The price is read from your list, with the fee for items like a fridge or a mattress.

  4. Says how pricing works

The crew confirms the final load when they see it, and the customer only pays for the space it takes on the truck.

  5. Books the window

A two-hour arrival window on a day that fits the route, and a text with the window and the price range.

  6. Takes photos when it helps

For a pile that's hard to describe, a text link for photos, which land on the booking for the crew lead.

Example call

  1. CustomerHi, I've got an old couch and a queen mattress in the garage. What does it cost to take those?
  2. AI agentI can help with that. Is it just the couch and the mattress, or is anything else going while we're there?
  3. CustomerMaybe a couple of boxes of old toys and a broken bike.
  4. AI agentThat's about a quarter truck. For us that's 189 dollars, plus a 20-dollar fee for the mattress. The crew confirms the size when they see it.
  5. CustomerOkay, that's fair. Can you come this week?
  6. AI agentI have Thursday between 1 and 3, or Saturday between 9 and 11. Is the garage easy for the truck to reach?
  7. CustomerYes, right off the driveway. Saturday morning.
  8. AI agentYou're booked Saturday, 9 to 11. I'll text you the window and the price now, and the crew will call when they're on the way.

After the call: Saturday's 9 to 11 window has a quarter-truck pickup from the garage with a couch, a queen mattress, boxes and a bike, quoted at 189 dollars plus the mattress fee. The customer has a text with both.

What your team gets

  • Pickups booked with each item named, not just "junk"
  • Load estimates from your own chart, with item fees added
  • Stairs, carries and parking noted for the crew
  • Photos on the booking when the caller sends them
  • Weekend and evening calls booked, not lost to voicemail
Set up with you: The team sets up a connection to your booking and routing software (Vonigo, Workiz or Jobber), loads your load chart, item fees and service area, and sets the arrival windows your trucks run.

Questions

Will the price change on the day?

It may, and it says so. The crew confirms the load when they see it. If it's bigger or smaller, they tell the customer before loading.

Can it quote from a photo?

It sends a photo link and gives a range from your chart. If it's unusual, your crew lead confirms the price from the photo.

What about items you can't take?

It reads your list, like propane tanks or chemicals, and tells the caller where those usually go if you've given that.
