Brokers called with the new ETA before they ask
Brokers keep giving loads to the carriers who tell them about a delay before the receiver does. The agent makes that call from the truck's real position, so your dispatchers don't have to.
The ELD shows a truck that can't make its appointment, or dispatch marks a load delayed.
Calls the broker with the position, the cause and the new ETA, and gets the new appointment if there is one.
A broker kept informed, and the new appointment on the load.
How it works
- Watches the appointments
It compares each truck's position and drive time left against its next pickup or delivery appointment.
- Waits for dispatch
When a load slips, dispatch confirms the new ETA, or the agent uses the one dispatch already set on the load.
- Calls the broker
The broker rep on the load, with your load number and theirs. Brokers that want email instead get an email.
- Gives the facts
Where the truck is, why it's behind, a closure on the Coquihalla or a late loader at the shipper, and the new ETA.
- Gets a new appointment
If the broker reschedules with the receiver, the agent takes the new time and puts it on the load and the driver's next stop.
- Keeps the record
Who was called, when, and what they said, on the load. That helps when detention or a late fee is argued later.
Example call
- AI agentHi, it's Emma from Red River Transport, calling about load 58812, your reference PL-2290, the reefer to Calgary.
- CustomerYeah, what's up?
- AI agentWe had a reefer repair in Kenora overnight. The truck's rolling again and it's just west of Brandon. Dispatch has the ETA at 5:30 tonight instead of 2.
- CustomerOkay. Let me call the receiver.
- AI agentThanks. The load held minus 18 the whole time, and the reefer download is ready if they ask. Call me back on this line with the new appointment.
- CustomerThey can take it at 6 tonight. Appointment 7731.
- AI agentGot it, 6 tonight, appointment 7731. I'll put that on the load and tell the driver.
After the call: Load 58812 shows the new 6 p.m. appointment and number 7731, Harj sees it on his next stop, and the call and time are logged on the load.
What your team gets
- Brokers told about delays before the receiver calls them
- New appointment times on the load and the driver's stop
- A timed record of every update for detention disputes
- Email updates for the brokers who prefer them
- Fewer check calls to dispatch from brokers
Questions
Does it make up the ETA?
No. It uses the ETA dispatch set, or the one your system works out from the truck's position and drive time left.
Will it share the driver's location?
It gives the general position, like west of Brandon, as your dispatchers would. Exact tracking links go only to brokers you've set up for them.
Can it answer broker check calls too?
Yes. A broker calling for an update hears the same position and ETA, read from the load.
