Lost jackets and phones matched to the night
"I think I left my navy jacket on the chair last night." Emma finds the booking, checks the found log the closers filled in, and tells the guest it's waiting at the host stand. Nobody has to go dig through the coat room mid-lunch.
A guest calls about something they left: a jacket, a phone, glasses, a child's toy.
Finds their visit, checks the found log, says where it is, or logs the search.
A matched item with a pickup time, or a search the closing staff can check that night.
How it works
- Finds the visit
By name, phone number or the night they came in. It sees which table they sat at and who served them.
- Gets a good description
Colour, brand, what's in the pockets, where they think they left it. Enough for a server to know it on sight.
- Checks the found log
Staff log what they find at close. If something matches, it tells the guest it's there and where it's kept.
- Sets the pickup
When the host stand is open, who to ask for, and that ID is needed for phones and wallets.
- Logs it if nothing matches
The search goes to the closing manager with the table number, so it's checked that night.
- Texts when it turns up
If staff find it later, the guest gets a text with the pickup hours. Items not claimed are handled your way.
Example call
- CustomerHi, I was in last night and I think I left my jacket. Navy, wool, kind of long.
- AI agentLet's find it. What name was the reservation under?
- CustomerTremblay, there were four of us around 8.
- AI agentI see you at table 12 last night. The closing team logged a long navy wool coat from that section, with a bus pass in the pocket. Does that sound like yours?
- CustomerYes! The bus pass is mine.
- AI agentIt's at the host stand. We open at 11:30, just ask for the coat from last night and bring ID. I'll text you the hours.
After the call: The found log marks the navy coat as claimed by Tremblay with pickup today, the host stand gets a note, and the guest has a text with the hours.
What your team gets
- A found log matched to the night, the table and the guest
- Pickup notes for the host stand
- Searches sent to the closing manager when nothing matches
- Texts to guests when their item turns up
- Fewer lost-and-found calls landing on the floor during lunch
Questions
Will it hand a phone to anyone who calls?
No. It tells the guest to bring ID, and staff check it at pickup. For phones and wallets it confirms details only the owner would know before it says it's there.
What if the guest wasn't on a reservation?
It asks for the night, the time and where they sat. Walk-ins are matched by description and the time staff logged the item.
Can it arrange to mail an item?
If you offer that, it takes the address and passes it to the manager. Otherwise it sets a pickup time.
