Inbound: the customer calls

Exact model and finish checked before they drive

"Do you have the thirty-inch stainless range?" gets a real answer: two in the warehouse, one on the floor, and the black stainless arriving Thursday. The caller buys from the store that knew.

When it starts

A caller asks about a model, a size, a finish or a TV they saw in your flyer or online.

What the agent does

Checks warehouse, floor and incoming stock for that model and finish, gives your price, explains price matching.

What your team gets

A shopper coming in for a model you have, or a hold on one that's arriving.

How it works

  1. Pins down the model

Width, fuel type, finish and brand, or the model number off the flyer. "Thirty-inch, gas, slide-in, stainless" is enough to find it.

  2. Checks every location

Warehouse, showroom floor, your other stores, and what's on the next truck from the distributor, with the date.

  3. Gives your price

The current price on your system, any sale end date, and open-box or scratch-and-dent units of the same model if you carry them.

  4. Explains price matching

Your price-match policy as written: which competitors, whether it has to be in stock there, and what to bring.

  5. Offers close matches

If that finish is gone, it offers the same model in another finish or the nearest model you stock, with the difference in price.

  6. Holds or books the visit

Sets a hold if your rules allow, or books time with a salesperson for a full kitchen package.

Example call

  1. CustomerHi, do you have the Bosch dishwasher, the 800 series, in stainless? The one in your flyer.
  2. AI agentLet me check. Is it the one with the third rack, model ending in 78?
  3. CustomerThat's it.
  4. AI agentThere are three in our Guelph warehouse and one set up on the floor. The flyer price is 1,349 until Sunday.
  5. CustomerThe big-box place has it for less, I think.
  6. AI agentWe match a lower advertised price on the same model from the stores on our list, as long as they have it in stock. Bring the ad or the link and the floor team will check it.
  7. CustomerOkay. Can I come in tonight?
  8. AI agentWe're open until 8. I'll text you the model number and address, and let Arjun know you're coming about a price match.

After the call: Arjun has a note that a shopper is coming in tonight for the Bosch 800 dishwasher in stainless, three in the warehouse, asking about a price match. The caller has the model number by text.

What your team gets

  • Stock by model and finish across warehouse, floor and other stores
  • Price-match requests noted before the shopper arrives
  • Open-box and scratch-and-dent units offered when they fit
  • Holds on incoming units with the arrival date
  • A list of models callers wanted that you didn't have
Set up with you: The team loads your price-match and hold policies, and sets up a connection to your point of sale and inventory system (Lightspeed, STORIS or your distributor's portal) so the agent reads stock, incoming trucks and current prices.

Questions

Does it read the live price?

Yes, the price on your system right now, including sale prices and their end dates.

Will it hold a unit?

If your policy allows, for the time you set, and it tells the caller when the hold ends.

Can it compare two models?

It reads the features and sizes from the product details you have. A deeper comparison is booked with a salesperson.
