Inbound: the customer calls

Long-term and multi-unit quotes for contractors

A builder needing two scissor lifts, a telehandler and a light tower for four months is worth more than a summer of weekend rentals. The agent scopes the whole job and puts it in front of your account rep the same day.

When it starts

A builder, contractor or facilities manager calls about several machines or a long rental.

What the agent does

Learns the machines, the months, the site and the account, and books a call with your account rep.

What your team gets

A quote request with units, dates and site, and a call booked with the rep.

How it works

  1. Learns the project

A four-storey wood-frame build, a warehouse fit-out, a winter hoarding job. The project tells your rep what else they'll need.

  2. Lists the machines

Each unit and class, the attachments, and how many: two 26-foot scissor lifts, a 10,000-pound telehandler with forks and a jib.

  3. Asks the months

Start date, expected length and whether units come and go as the job moves. Long rentals price differently, and your rep needs it.

  4. Checks the account

An existing account, a new one, or a credit application to send. It notes the purchase order process if they use one.

  5. Books the rep

A call or a site visit with your commercial account rep, with the quote request already on their desk.

Example call

  1. CustomerHi, it's Ben Okafor with Cornerstone Framing. We start a four-storey job in Guelph in April and I need some equipment priced.
  2. AI agentHappy to help, Ben. What are you thinking for machines?
  3. CustomerTwo scissor lifts, the 26-foot ones, and a telehandler with forks. Maybe a light tower later.
  4. AI agentAnd for how long, roughly?
  5. CustomerFour months, maybe five.
  6. AI agentThanks. I see Cornerstone already has an account with us. Shauna looks after your account, and she can call you tomorrow at 9 or 1:30 with pricing. Which is better?
  7. Customer9 is good.
  8. AI agentBooked. She'll have the two lifts, the telehandler and the light tower in front of her, starting in April in Guelph.

After the call: Shauna has a 9:00 call with Ben tomorrow and a quote request for two 26-foot scissor lifts, a telehandler with forks and a possible light tower, four to five months from April in Guelph, on the Cornerstone account.

What your team gets

  • Long-term and multi-unit requests scoped in one call
  • Quote requests on the account rep's desk the same day
  • Existing accounts and PO rules found and noted
  • Credit applications sent to new contractors
  • A booked call or site visit with the rep
Set up with you: The team sets up a connection to your rental software, customer accounts and rep calendars (Point of Rental, Wynne RentalMan or Texada SRM), and sets which rep gets which accounts and which jobs count as long-term.

Questions

Will it quote a monthly rate?

It reads your posted four-week rates. Long-term and multi-unit pricing comes from your account rep.

Can it open a new account?

It sends your credit application by text or email and tells the rep a new contractor is coming.

What about a contractor who needs it tomorrow?

It checks what's free and books what it can, and still sends the bigger request to the rep.
