Outbound: the agent calls

Full or overdue bins swapped, extended or lifted

Bins sitting full on a driveway are bins you can't rent. The agent calls on the last rental day, books the swap or the pickup, adds days at your rate if they need more time, and handles the "it's full" calls from contractors.

When it starts

A bin's rental period ending, or a customer calling to say it's full.

What the agent does

Asks swap, extend or pick up, checks the truck schedule, books it, applies your rates.

What your team gets

Bins back in the yard sooner, extra days billed, and swaps on the next run.

How it works

  1. Calls on the last day

Each morning, bins due back that day get a call. "Your bin's seven days are up today, how's it going?"

  2. Swap, extend or pick up

A full bin and more to go gets a swap. More time gets extra days. Done gets a pickup.

  3. Checks the truck

A swap or a pickup goes on the next run with room, and the customer hears the window.

  4. Applies your rates

Extra days at your daily rate, a swap at your swap price, and your weight allowance said again for a heavy load.

  5. Asks about the load

Anything piled above the top, anything on the restricted list? It asks, so the driver can lift it.

  6. Takes the inbound calls too

A contractor who calls to say "the bin's full, swap it tomorrow" gets the same booking in one short call.

Example call

  1. AI agentHi Mr. Dufresne, it's Emma from Northshore Bins. Your 20-yard has been at your place seven days as of today. Are you finished with it?
  2. CustomerIt's full, but we've still got the deck to tear off.
  3. AI agentI can swap it for an empty one. Is anything piled above the top edge?
  4. CustomerA little, maybe a foot of railing on one end.
  5. AI agentCould you bring that down to the edge before the driver comes? Then I can swap it tomorrow between 8 and 11. The swap is 295 dollars with another seven days.
  6. CustomerThat works. We'll level it tonight.
  7. AI agentPerfect, booked for tomorrow 8 to 11. I'll text you the window.

After the call: Tomorrow's run has a 20-yard swap at Mr. Dufresne's with "leveling tonight" in the notes, the swap price and seven new days on the rental, and a text with the window.

What your team gets

  • Every bin called on its last rental day
  • Swaps and pickups booked on the next run with room
  • Extra days billed at your daily rate
  • Overloaded bins sorted before the driver arrives
  • A yard report of bins out, due and overdue
Set up with you: The team sets up a connection to your bin rental and dispatch software (CurbWaste, Docket or Vonigo), loads your rental period, daily rate, swap price and weight allowances, and sets the calling hours.

Questions

What if they don't answer?

It leaves a short message and a text asking swap, extend or pick up, and tries again at the time you set.

Can it book a swap for first thing tomorrow?

If the morning run has room, yes. If it's full, it offers the next opening and lets dispatch know.

Does it handle an overweight bin?

It reminds the customer of the weight allowance and your extra-tonne price. The scale ticket settles the final amount.
