Low-battery and trouble signals called out
A low-battery or communicator trouble signal usually means a chirping keypad and a system that may not report. The agent calls the customer the same day, fixes the simple ones on the phone, and books the rest before the system goes quiet.
The station receives a low battery, AC power loss, a sensor tamper, or a communicator that missed its test.
Calls the customer, explains the signal, walks through the fix you approve, books service if it's needed.
Trouble signals closed out, batteries shipped or swapped, and visits booked before the system stops reporting.
How it works
- Picks up the signal
Trouble signals from the monitoring queue that aren't alarms: a low panel battery, a weak sensor battery, power off at the panel, a missed communicator test.
- Calls the customer
At a sensible hour, with a plain reason. "Your panel told us the backup battery is getting low."
- Fixes the easy ones
A tripped breaker, a transformer unplugged by the cleaner, a door sensor battery they can swap. Only the steps you approve.
- Sends the part
For sensor batteries you mail out, it confirms the address and the battery goes in the next shipment.
- Books the rest
A dead panel battery or a communicator that keeps failing becomes a service visit, with the signal on the work order.
- Closes the loop
The trouble is marked as handled on the account, with what the customer did and what's booked.
Example call
- AI agentHi Mr. Kowalczyk, it's Emma from Prairie Shield Security. Your alarm panel told us last night that it lost power. Is everything okay at the house?
- CustomerOh. We had the basement redone. The electrician might have unplugged something.
- AI agentThat's likely it. The panel has a small plug-in transformer, often near the furnace. Could you check whether it's plugged in?
- CustomerHang on... yep, it was sitting on the floor. Plugged back in.
- AI agentPerfect. The keypad should stop showing the trouble light within a few minutes. The backup battery has been carrying it, so it may need a day to charge.
- CustomerGreat, thanks for calling.
- AI agentMy pleasure. If the light is still on tomorrow, call us back and we'll send a tech.
After the call: The AC trouble on the account is marked handled with "transformer unplugged during reno, plugged back in", and the account is watched for a restore signal from the panel.

Questions
Does it call about alarms, too?
No. Alarms are handled by your monitoring operators. It calls only about trouble signals you choose.
What if the customer isn't home?
It leaves a short voicemail and a text, tries again at the times you set, and books service if the trouble stays.
Can it handle a missed communicator test?
It asks whether the internet or power went out, and books a visit if the panel keeps missing its test.
